Coming in November!
The philosophy and practices of body-based healing practices are some of today’s most popular methodologies in the treatment of trauma, anxiety, depression, chronic illness, pain management, and addiction recovery.
These practices have spanned generations of different lineages, whose influences include contemplative psychologies and philosophies and qi gong, acupuncture, dance, bodywork, somatic experiencing, and many more, including Focusing.
Based on psychologist and philosopher Eugene Gendlin’s Focusing, and carried forward by WholeBody Focusing Teachers Kevin McEvenue and Karen Whalen, this training includes learning the main concepts of grounded presence, felt sensing, the shared field, and inner-directed movements. This course provides the first of a series of four modules in the series of Relational WholeBody Focusing (RWBF) which include its history and development, foundational principles, and main theoretical and practice approaches.
This course demonstrates user-friendly Relational WholeBody Focusing methods and defines the following main approaches; connecting to the five bodily spaces; physical, energetic, environmental, relational and transpersonal, refined inner sensing, listening to the language of the body, the body-environment-interaction, opening to the quantum field, relational resonance, and how to be oneself with another. Didactic presentations, experiential practice exercises, and examples provide a rich, varied format for learning.
This experiential class is for you if you want a process that can be immediately used in day-to-day life to help with unwanted habits, addictions, chronic pain, stress, and personal growth.
If you are new to Focusing, RWBF, or if you have previously learned Focusing and are curious about RWBF this class is for you. If you are a healthcare provider working with trauma treatment, mental health, and addiction recovery and want to be certified as a Focusing Practitioner, this module is the first of a series of four that will satisfy that requirement.

I became interested in holistic health when I was a teenager working at my first job in a health food store. This interest grew and led me to study naturopathic medicine at Bastyr University. There I was introduced to and intrigued by what the original naturopaths called the “vital force” or the dynamic energy that directs the different body systems to function as a harmonious whole. This new and expanding discovery of the human body led me to explore Classical Chinese Medicine and Relational WholeBody Focusing, the principles of which are also grounded in this energetic life force that permeates and connects all living beings. It gives me great joy to offer a welcoming space for this innate wisdom of the body to come alive in each of us, creating a shared field for continued growth and healing.
