Emerald Golden Milk
Try this delicious and energizing variation of Golden Milk as a daily tonic. Matcha is a powdered green tea and contains all the health benefits of green tea in a concentrated form. It also contains caffeine.
First make a paste you can store in the fridge by mixing the following ingredients.
1 cup water
1/2 cup turmeric ground
1/2 cup ginger juice (if juicing yourself use 10 inches whole ginger)
1 Tbsp cardamom seeds
4 tbsp raw honey
2 tsp cinnamon ground
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp black peppercorns
2 tsp matcha powder
use 1 1/2 tsp for each cup of your favorite plant-based milk
Blend the green cardamom seeds, cloves, and black peppercorns in a coffee grinder or food processor to make powder. Add them to the turmeric powder in a bowl. Add the water to turmeric and spice mix and stir to make a paste. Add the ginger juice and honey to the paste. Cook the mixed ingredients over low heat for about 20 minutes, until well blended, the consistency of toothpaste. Add matcha and stir. Cool, and keep refrigerated in a covered glass jar. This will keep refrigerated for at least a month.
To serve: Add 1 ½ tsp of paste to one cup of your favorite plant-based milk or raw goat milk in a small pot and heat on the stove until warmed. If you have a frother, even better!
